Families of imprisoned soldiers plan rally

LEAVENWORTH, Kan. — Family members of soldiers who are imprisoned at Fort Leavenworth for killings during the Iraq war are planning a rally in Leavenworth.
The relatives call the inmates the Leavenworth 10, although two have been released from the prison.


Scott Behenna, one of the organizers of the Labor Day weekend rally, says the group is not anti-military. Instead, he says, members are trying to raise awareness about the soldiers. He says all the prisoners — including his son — killed because they thought they were defending themselves or other members of the military.

So, what's your opinion on the relative merit of their convictions ??

They broke long standing rules and committed Murder. It was murder because they did the killing voluntarily, rather than as part of Duty. They violated the Geneva Convention, and they were incarcerated as part of their punishment.

Yup. They were found guilty by a jury of their peers (well court martial)..
