Default Frankly, I'm disappointed in this site...
Because love him or hate him, here we have a forum that seems to openly encourage debate and a negative attitude towards the President.

I'm not saying that's bad necessarily, but I find it interesting because I don't recall us ever having a George Bush forum..... and it seems that the times is catering to the conservative majority in the military by giving them a place to voice their dislike for the current commander in chief.

Sure, we're free to voice or opinions on the guy, but seeing that there hasn't been a forum for past presidents I find this a little slanted and biased. It also seems to be encouraging military members with the whack job opinion that the President is NOT a citizen of the United States, and I don't think this site should be giving a sounding board to whack job conspiracy theorists of any kind. I think it would be appropriate to pull the plug on this section. Especially seeing how people won't even spell his name correctly and insist on childish nick names like "O'Bummer and O'Dummer" which by the way, only make the poster seem incapable of differentiating between a Kenyan last name and an Irish one. I think any worthwhile news about Obama this site wishes to publish should be done so in the "In the News" section, and we should refrain from feeding the bullshit artists that harbor nothing but spite and hatred for our country's commander in chief. As in case we have forgotten, that's what he is.

Just my two cents.

Your memory isn't very long then....there were plenty of threads that were basically a free for all to bash Bush. Yeah there were probably more of us defending him but there were plenty ob Bush bashers. Also keep in mind that this is a relatively new site. If it had the #s it does now during erlier elections cycles, I am sure you would have seen just as much outrage from the far left as you now see from the far right...

Start with these.

“The Real Reasons We Invaded Iraq”

“GOP: The Party of Values?”

“It's so hard to say goodbye, President Bush”

“Poll: Do you think George Bush is COMPETENT as Commander-in-Chief?”

BTW: I don't remember seeing your posts on these threads defending the elected President.

This board has only been in place about 4 years(ish). Had it been in place during the other President's tenures, I'm sure you'd have seen it.

People love to bitch and complain. No matter how good someone or something is, there will always be SOMEONE who'll find something to whine about.

And Silver Fox, as far as your comment "I don't think this site should be giving a sounding board to whack job conspiracy theorists of any kind", you should have seen some of the good ones when Bush was president. From "Was 9/11 an inside job" to threads about the Minot nuke flight being the preface to a "false flag" nuclear event, the crazy conspiracy kooks were out in force.

The juvenile names were common, too. "Shrub", "Bushie", "Bushit", "Bushitler", etc.

The crap being thrown at Obama is no worse at all than what was thrown at Bush (with the exception of some of the moronic racist stuff that was posted after the election. But how many regular posters were involved in that? It was mainly "drive-by" posting and trolling) And when you consider Obama's history - ultra-liberal with zero experience, from the most corrupt political machine in the nation, hung around with hardcore racists and terrorists - it's actually surprising that more people don't target him with their vitriol.

What alot of people forget or don't know (depending on when you joined the military) was that there was a HUGE backlash against Clinton back in the 90's by the military en masse - generals were punished for speaking poorly of our then commander in chief especially. I remember it being almost encouraged in the pilot community, and an unspoken yet acknowledged thing in the enlisted.

The bottom line is that bashing the President is same now as it ever was. Just someone different this time around.

Ouch....bullseye TJ. I'd like to see his reply to that. It'll probably involve the words f#ck, sh!t or pu$$y. On the other hand, Incoherent attacks on Obama are counter productive to say the least. They only provide fuel to the fire that all of us on the right are rebel flag waving racists. Obama has done nothing to help our country. Cap and trade, printing money like there's no tomorrow, stimulus after stimulus and god help us if it ever passes, universal health care are only worsening our overall economic health and putting us in more debt that we've ever seen in our history. Or maybe it's just Obama's radical affiliations (George Soros, Acorn, SEIU, Van Jones, Rev Wright, Bill Ayers, etc) These people and organizations are all beyond radical and he has yet to explain his real ideology in relation to them.

Obama is more than worthy of the negative press he's receiving (anonomously) from the military.

Just my two cents

Um. No. I wasn't. I didn't start posting regularly until a few months prior the election, and pretty much only in the Branch of Service forums. I didn't start posting outside of there until after Obama was elected.

Second of all, if I'd have seen it then, I'd have voiced it then too. I never saw it here, but elsewhere and in person I heard the lame insults of "Shrub", "Tree", etc. etc. I was never *against* Bush, I was just never really for him either and think he screwed a lot of things up, but I attacked the policies, and never the man. I never attacked the man himself. That would imply that he didn't mean well, and I believe he did and still does. I have nothing personal against George Bush, never did.

You can't speculate on something if I didn't see it.

Ok, for the sake of argument (and because the post archive has a limited number of saved posts) you weren't posting regularly but....................

Are you saying that at no time since June 28 of last year you NEVER noticed a thread bashing Bush? If you are claiming that then I am going to have to throw the bullshit flag. Don’t get me wrong, you are of course under no obligation to defend anyone on this forum however your timing in posting this particular thread is suspect.
