Ron Paul Would Be Major Factor if He Went Third Party

http://www.sunshinestatenews.com/sto...nt-third-party

"A national poll of likely voters released by Rasmussen Reports Tuesday shows that Ron Paul, who is the only major opponent that Mitt http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/shitt.gif faces for the Republican presidential nomination, would be a major factor if he made a third-party presidential bid in 2012.

The poll shows that in a three-way race, former Massachusetts governor http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/shitt.gif takes 44 percent followed by President Barack Obama with 39 percent and Texas congressman Paul in third with 13 percent. While the poll shows that Paul would not garner the level of support that Ross Perot took in his presidential bid in 1992, it also shows that Paul has more of a base than several recent independent and third-party presidential bids, including then-Congressman John Anderson’s in 1980, Ralph Nader’s various presidential bids, Pat Buchanan’s Reform Party run in 2000 and Paul’s own campaign in 1988, when he was the Libertarian nominee. "

Although I voted for Paul yesterday and I have no great love for http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/shitt.gif, I don't think this is a very good idea.

jeockammece 05-09-2012 10:53 PM

Well, my hunch has always been that Paul would actually help http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/shitt.gif in the general. Which this poll shows.

So, if you elect the Republican, the Democrat gets shamed with only 39% of the vote, raise awareness of better ideas, and show a significant group of disgruntled voters, all at the same time, that's a pretty good deal.

I could live with that...

I hate like hell to sound anything like the Paul_bashers on here, but I'll agree the stakes are too high to risk having Obama for another four years.

If we don't disband the FED, and print our own money, overturn every law that is uconstitutional, and arrest the bankers you won't live with it for long. You'll be in a re-education FEMA camp, or one of their shiny plastic coffins for four.

Drugsonl 05-09-2012 11:01 PM

I won't vote for Paul. I like him,but won't vote for him at all.

As I said, I think Paul helps http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/shitt.gif, in a 3-way race.

I don't predict a http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/shitt.gif win against Obama, so for me, it doesn't matter who I vote for...

I sincerely hope it doesn't go that way, but the turn-outs for Paul only reinforced what I already knew: Americans are CLUELESS!

How many times do I have to tell you nutters that the president doesn't do much of anything? Can't you watch CSPAN for fifteen minutes to see how the political process works?

But either way... you go ahead and vote for Ron Paul. That way Obama is insured the victory. Even though he probably was anyway. As in reality, you don't vote for anything. The entirety of government does. Senators, representatives, basically all you do is give a visible opinion that said branches half-ass consider... in case you were ever educated enough to figure out they didn't vote the way you wanted them too and might not vote for them as your political figures next time around. The senate and house is what you should be concerned about. Not the president.

But frankly you go ahead and keep being stupid. I guess federal fascism is better then confederate fascism. At least we're equally fucked under the current regime of human ignorance. But if you morons ever became self aware, then we'd be screwed in many more exotic and perverted positions.

http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...t70/obongo.jpg This was pretty much going to be my platform for state representative.

No, Jim is correct. RP needs to get over the 3rd party bullshit and focus on removing obama.

and you need to get over your delusions that RP will ever be anything more than an old fart congressman from texas.

I wish Paul would start and help guide a real third party through it's infancy..

So do I, but this is not the year to do it. Obama presents a real and present danger. If he is not replaced ,a 3rd party movement in the future will be null and void because the liberal socialists will be so well entrenched that they will control everything, including elections.

I think the blind support for http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/shitt.gif shows America's cluelessness far more than the support for Ron Paul does. Why are the Republicans nominating such a lousy candidate?

Fact it towel boy, http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/shitt.gif is the only GOP candidate that could beat Obama. THATS WHY THEY NOMINATED HIM. If you cannot see that, you live in a dream world.

Third parties in the past have always been right wing and have helped elect left wing democrats. We need to be very careful with this or we will shit in our hat.
