Supposedly he used some other theory of his(which relates to intelligence) to reach the conclusion that black men are more attractive, despite the data(perhaps he did it because he naively thought that it would protect him from accusations of racism). He doesn't really sound like the sharpest tool in the box, honestly, but what he's going through is reminiscent of the Larry Summers debacle, so I can't help but be sympathetic:
