well Ukraine is basically a shithole, its funny when you look at the map you will see this line:

the more to the East the shittier, with Germany being what it is "Germany", Poland being more or less "ok", the rest you can figure out by yourself

Poland has some ancient towns where civilization is visible, like Krakow for example, definitely worth visiting.

Ironic and quite sad, this tournament was to be a chance for Ukraine to improve their image, as they want to join EU and NATO and so far the only thing being shown are negatives. Boycots, burning dogs and now this. I havent seen any positive news so far. (Poland here has smaller stakes, however officially Polish diplomatic line is to support independent and pro-European Ukraine, so it backfired too in some way).
We'll see whats gonna happen. I have some strange feeling of terrorist attack, either there or during Olympics, but hopefully its just bad omen.

It works in any direction in Europe, in general, starting from Low countries. the further east/west/north/south the more backwards. Center of civilisation they call it. Indeed they say it is connected to this factor strongly. In my previous post I just stated the fact, not the reasons behind it. They list proximity of oceans and rivers, this connects to density, this connect to better development of communication, also the weather (milder and more steady around ocean shores), soils, its a chain reaction largely.

Indeed, I mentioned it here too a while ago. EE are handy, cause they are poorer so they ar easier to 'victimise' but also they are 'white' so you are not racist attacking them, they are also not protected because of the same thing.

Interiors of the US could be a bit more backwards than some States along the coasts, but its only to American standards, compared to the more developed states. plus the percentrage of Aframs happens to be the highest in these states too:
