I think I've commented on this before here or elsewhere. In a nutshell the radical left (i.e. democultist worshippers of equality in the name of liberty) has been in power for far too long in many Western countries and their endless antics are provoking the rise of the radical right. Normal people are sick of joblessness, high taxes, blanket immigration, moral nebulousness, things like "gay marriage," fake racist stories to create ethnic and racial tensions, etc., thus they're aligning with right and far-right political parties. These are the standard tricks of the trade for leftwing scum so, as a natural response, people will vote for rightwing scum (anti-democultist worshippers of authoritarianism) who promise to take a hard line. This lesson historical lesson was learned by my reading of the history of the Roman Republic, which eventually was divided into two political camps: optimatii or bonii (i.e. conservative) and popularii (populists). Their constant infighting led to civil wars, political instability, and ultimately the downfall of their traditional government and the rise of autocracy.
