At the risk of stepping on a few toes (again), all of the ancestry paintings I've seen on here indicate that even the most Nordic people you can find have non-European components in their DNA. So how can anyone say they are full European if that is the case?

I would say, tentatively, that it would be possible inasmuch as I see no reason why it couldn't have happened. Whether or not it has happened will probably depend upon what you consider European. I don't doubt that there must be some people out there all of whom's ancestors were European for as long as Europeans have existed, clearly the orthodox view is that we all originated in Africa.

I don't know, I don't even know if "Europeans" do exist in a genetic sense, Europe is a political entity. Perhaps Basque people would be a candidate for 100% European? They have, AFAIK, been in Europe longer than the rest of us.

Anyway, Europe's borders can be seen on a map. So, it is possible, albeit perhaps unlikely, that all of someone's ancestors have lived within that area since people have occupied that area, to that extent someone could be a pure European. The people who live in, and who have lived in historically, Europe are Europeans, if they breed with each other and no-one else then their children will, for these purposes, be "pure Europeans".

I don't think it is disputed that someone could be a pure Native American, even though we all know that so many thousands of years ago the Native Americans went to America from wherever, why is Europe any different?

I've always been against the label Europe aside from being a geographic label. I mean grouping Scots and Norwegians with Greeks and Albanians? Spaniards with Lithuanians? It's glossing over the many differences that exist.

Both of their parents are European? Some admixture from thousands of years ago is practicaly useless to their current makeup and is only good for tracing migrations.

I wouldn't say that. For us Jews in particular, our Middle Eastern heritage is of utmost importance to us even though it was a couple thousand years back in time.

There's no European race since Europe is a geographical or political term. Ancient Greeks divided the continents and we, modern people, decided to divide the people into separate races in both sides. Of course someone would consider a part of Europeans being older than other Europeans but why?

Trust me it doesn't work like that. European is a culture it's not a genetic formula or a race. 23andme only calculates 'caucasoid' not how European you are because that's in your attitude/style/look/culture.

Then if you speak about culture/traditions etc then anyone born in Europe with European ancestors.
