Yup. Hit on it. And throwbacks are still born anyway! Only Aframs have to deal with them instead of white people. ![]() |

Yeaap, because it was her family, i can't believe how her sibling disowned her, even in Apartheid South Africa. ![]() There were issues in my case, too. My mother's mother was not too keen on my father's phenotype. It was never said explicitly, but kind of like in MK's case, it was implicitly hinted at a few times. Then I was born...and things got very interesting. ![]() I still am not in touch with that grandmother. Part of that has to do with that baggage among plenty of other drama. |

It makes sense if they are half-siblings or not siblings. Internal stigma against IR relationships is strong. ---------- Post added 2012-03-18 at 14:31 ---------- You've seen him, right? He does look a little different...She had a meltdown. At the time, my father also had his hair grown out and it was long and similar to mine. He was a little "too country" for her taste. You see, all of my family is originally from "the country." And you know how I mean that with the quotes. But she had such insecurities about her humble origins that she sought to distance herself from anything that reminded her of it. And my father looked like people from back home to her so she was quite heated about it. The "baggage" I mentioned. |

Skin is a good movie. Tony Kgoroge is in it, he is a good actor.
Anyways, about Sandra Laing did not have distant African ancestry. She did get a genetic test with newer technology and it was found that she had some kind of rare genetic mutation. I saw pictures of the real Sandra Laing, though. She is dark, but she still looks within the "white" spectrum to me. |
