East coast mexican americans or "chicanos" aren't even expoced to those aztlanistas. Many here don't give a crap about race. They think their nationality is their race, I think its common in the west coast for them to identify as indios. |

Really? Because I hear it all the Time. I heard it in florida a lot A lil in GA Definitely new york , the mid west , In Cali, but not as much, and not so much in Texas. It's a bit misleading , but at the end of the day it's more of just a colloquialism to say, "Im spanish," but i think it refers to their culture because in the same sentence they will say they're country of origin, like this.. "Oh no us Spanish girls don't do that , I'm 100% Colombiana!" |

@Caonabo How do Nuyoricans, Dominicans, Colombians, and Poblanos look in NYC? And do they get along???? For Colombians, majority are from the interior (Paisas, Medellin, Pereira, but also Cali), minority are from the Caribbean coast. They range, but most have a stereotypical look, I guess on this forum they'd be described as pred. European mestizo or castizo, but they look, on average, distinct from the Central Americans and Mexican mestizos. For a mental picture, look up the classification thread on Carmen Villalobos on here ![]() Poblanos are on average more Amerindian influenced than what I've seen from Mexicans in other regions. They tend to form the group of most recent arrivals. I'll expand on how they get along later. |

I'm always confused on
LATINOS, CHICANOS? Do the Andean Peruvians called themselves Latinos? African descents in South America called themselves Latinos? I have always thought that LATINOS refers to people of LATIN ANCESTRY like Italians, Romans, Portuguese, French, Spanish... I might as well called myself a GERMANO since I speak English which is a Germanic language? lol |

that's because the spanish language and the word spanish does not belong to spain anymore ![]() --------------------- yeah... that's true and there's nothing we can do. but the brightest spaniards minds have been thinking on the matter and they have bring out a bright solution... to change the name of spain for CHOCHONIA. So we won't be 'spaniards' anymore, but chochoni, a word with no genre because feminazis also won here... well, everybody has won us in the last 5000 years at least. The final decision is pending on a thrilling popular referemdum... like in la suisse, suiza or swirchzerland!!! ![]() This is part of the campaign for the YES. I will vote NO anyway, que se jodan... |

I'm always confused on Most African Descents call themselves or identify as latinos (in LatAm). LATINO is a short for LATINOAMERICANO. You'd be seen as ANGLO or ANGLOCHINO around here or GRINGO CHINO. |
