One of the reasons I like this area, I have not noticed anyone staring at interethnic/racial couples here, unless its sneaky side glances.

The only vicious remarks I can vividly recall about what people feel about any perceived disparity between couples is aesthetic in nature. IN America interracial marriage was illegal until the 1950's in most states. During my grandfather's younger years a black man found with a white woman in his home state would not only be jailed, but he would be lucky to see a court room as he would be lynched long before that, he might not even be arrested.

Although black men (in America) don't tend to like to see black women with white males, it is rare the white man will be physically attacked, let alone executed. LOL

The more 'endogamous' a group are, the more threatened they feel about relationships outside their ethnic norm. Somalis are super endogamous (even for Horner standards IMO), only perhaps Indians and Middle Easterners are as anti-IR.

The stares are probably directed more at the Somali girl, than at you...which is why I dont think converting to Islam for the sake of the girl, is really a hard sacrifice a western man can do. Anyways...besides Somali women, I felt like older White people didnt approve, like they felt like ahni let them down. Again, the pressure was on ahni, not on me. IMO it's always the female who has to put up with more bullshit than the male in an interracial relationship.
