South African expats are being urged to apply for a special vote for the 22 April 2009 elections.

How To Apply For A Special Vote On 12 February, 2009 the President proclaimed in the government gazette that the South African elections will take place on 22 April. This means that the 15 day period during which South Africans must apply for a special vote has begun. All applications must reach the IEC by midnight on 27 February 2009. Any South African who is unable to vote at their voting station in the voting district in which they are registered at on 22 April has 15 days from 12 February to apply for a special vote.
