Default Jake Long
Apparently there is thought that the Dolphins, after drafting Martin, are ready to cut ties with him.

I like Philbin and all, but Ireland just makes me scratch my head.

Yeah, I would think they would have addressed WR in the first 3 rounds...., since they unloaded Marshall for 2 3rds

But they wait until the 6th to grab BJ Cunningham

Here's a list of Miami's WR:

Bess, Davone
Gates, Clyde
Hartline, Brian
Hogan, Chris
Lawrence, Quinten
Moore, Marlon
Pruitt, Julius
Wallace, Roberto
Cunningham, BJ
Matthews, Richard

How many of these guys know Philbin's offense?

If they are serious about dealing long, I think James Jones and maybe a 4th would get it done

"I’d like to clear the air on an article," Ireland said. "I don’t normally go overboard on media speculation. But I saw an article about Jake Long. I have plans to keep Jake Long here for a long time. So, let’s don’t get ahead of ourselves. ... We drafted Jonathan Martin to be a tackle on this football team, a right tackle. Let’s don’t speculate any further than that."

That is simply your opinion.

Do the Dolphins have better?

I don't see it at this point, except maybe Bess

My opinion is dolphins could do better and james jones is really nothing more than a #3 wr.

you dont trade a top LT for a back up WR and 4th rounder.

THE Eagles just unloaded a pro bowl corner for a 7th rounder.

The Dolphins just unloaded a pro bowl WR for 2 3rd rounders

asante is 32 and downside and limited market by only agreeing to restructure for a few teams

brandon marshall is a head case most teams shied away from.

hypothetically if the Phins let long walk as a unrestricted FA, he'd get bucks and garner a third round pick in compensation. plus GB would have to outbid other teams, and i'm sure there would be others.

hell, if I were vikings, I'd offer up michael jenkins and 4th and since we suck, our 4th will be higher
