I bet if the iggles win their first 10 games, you'll be on the bandwagon.

And the NFL had no choice but to come down like a ton of bricks on the Saints. They're already getting sued by ex-players. If they let it go or gave a wrist slap, they'd be open to further lawsuits for years to come.

yeah, itll degenerate into the pro bowl because gooddell dropped the hammer on the saints pay per injury program. you are retarded.
It's one instance in a long series of events signalling this. Goodell has a hard-on for slamming people who undermine safety in the NFL. It will only continue and get worse.

Bounties aren't a problem in the NFL. If a player hits a player outside of the rules of the game, that's why we have referees to throw flags or eject players.

I don't see why the NFL should owe any of those guys a penny.

I don't think the issue is entirely that they had a bounty system.

1.) they had a bounty system.
2.) they had a bounty system that was being paid into by people not on the team, that allowed the Saints to, in small part, circumvent the salary cap.
3.) The owner caught wind of it, and told Payton to make it stop.
4.) Payton explicitly ignored warnings from his owner and GM and the league, and told his assistants (per the article) to make sure "our ducks are in a row", when organizing the pay for injury scheme.

Had this stopped at number 2, or even THREE, I'd be willing to bet that this would be a 2-3-4 game suspension at most.

The BIGGEST issue here is that he was told to stop, and didn't. IMO of course.

I will not watch a single NFL game this year. The suspension of Sean Payton is an absolute disgrace and injustice.

And before anyone comes in and says the NFL doesn't care if I don't watch, remember to go fuck yourself before posting that.

The NFL's hypocritical position on safety is obnoxious and destroying the enjoyment value of the game. I feel like I can no longer enjoy the sport. Besides, the Eagles aren't winning anything any time soon.
Never mind that they started this investigation 3 years ago and the Saints lied and had ample time to stop but continued and got caught..

Enjoy your stupid fucking boycott, the rest of us we'll let you know how the season was..

Some Packers fans around here seem to really hate the Saints for some reason. I think it probably ties into that.
Iv never had a problem with the Saints, everyone from the organization has been decent in the past and Tom Benson always seems like a decent sort. Hope they do well, as long as it has nothing to do with the Packers chances along the way.

I do think the punishment is right on the money when you consider they had chances to stop the practice 3 years ago when the NFL started asking questions.

Fair enough. If the owner or NFL tells you to stop something, you need to stop it.

Scott Steiner, would be the correct attribute.

But believe me when I say I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing with you.

You are all like Sacha Baron Cohen up in here.

Sean Payton onside kicked to start the second half of the Superbowl...and it worked. And he won the Superbowl. Hell of a football coach. How can you dislike him?
He stole that from Mike McCarthy, who did it in the wildcard round against AZ.

So unoriginal...

Plus he always has a shit-eating smirk on his choirboy face.

Like he knows something the rest of us Schmucks are clueless about.

Wait...

Today I learned Goodell putting a stop to players committing assault for extra money is taking the fun out of the league.

Hell, maybe this will be a permanent boycott. I will have to reconsider after a year away from the sport.
