I think the biggest thing that the NFL had a problem with is the lying and the attempt to guide the league away from the accusations. I saw the Goodell interivew and thats the feeling I got. I mean the Saints are done, I can see free agents seeing New Orleans as bad now and can even see Brees walking away. I think losing Petyon is pretty huge too but I do think it was warrented. If anything this opens up the NFC South for the Bucs to wake up this season and steal the division. did RG take away draft picks for the salary cap violations? |

I bet if the iggles win their first 10 games, you'll be on the bandwagon. I don't see why the NFL should owe any of those guys a penny. |

Talk about hypocrisy. If the NHL was serious about discouraging fighting, they would just outlaw it. The big problem is that the "paying" fans love it. They seem to cheer more whenever there is a skirmish than when a goal is scored. |

Candy assed nonsense... taking a stand cause the league brought the hammer down hard on a pay for injury scheme. |

This I agree with. These players know damn well what playing football can do to you. You take a ton of money to get paid to play. The fact that most of them blow it with out thinking down the road should not be the NFL's cross to bear. With that said, I think the punishment was just. I like Greg Williams better though. |

horseshit. the players that are trying to get money from the league are the older players that DID NOT know damn well what playing football could do to them(besides torn muscles, ligaments, broken bones, etc). Not a single person knew the damage it would do to the brain. |

Did the NFL even know? I mean at some point they started to put 2 and 2 together but the fact of the matter is players are getting bigger, faster, stronger which means the collisions are going to become more severe. There may be a window where the NFL did nothing and perhaps lawsuits would be appropriate there, but at some point personal responsibility needs to be used as well. I hate the litigious society we live in today! (No offense Kobes or any other attorneys that post on here ) |

not to the extent it has. Im sure Ali knew head injuries would happen but do you think if he knew what he'd be for the last 20 years he have continued? And I also wonder whether what Ali has is a result of boxing. He has Parkinsons, right? Can you get that from head trauma? I know about 5 people with Parkinsons and none of them can trace it to something like that. |

I think boxing is different in that one of the objectives is to try and knock somebody senseless and they all know it. |
