Default Lego Superbowl Complete

INDIANAPOLIS — In the real world, Super Bowl XLVI kicks off Sunday. In the magical realms of Legoland, the game already has begun.

Nestled outside Radio Row, this inspired re-creation of Lucas Oil Stadium — made entirely of Legos — has generated a stir.

Complete with a functioning roof, dazzling JumboTron and raucous capacity crowd, Lego Lucas is detail-driven.

The model is the work of Brian Alano, a mechanical and systems engineer who debuted his creation at the Indiana State Fairgrounds last summer.

In those more innocent times, Peyton Manning and the Colts dotted the field. Five months later, with Indy’s slow-motion trainwreck in the books, Alano scrambled to tweak the scene for Super Bowl XLVI.

Lego Lucas is scattered with gems honoring fans from all corners.

Steelers faithful — dressed in black and gold and waving Terrible Towels — huddle uncomfortably close to Browns fans wielding dog bones. Mini cheeseheads abound. And if you look closely, you’ll spot an ugly cat fight, proving that some Lego women are a handful.
