Is there anyone named Ryan on the Niners?

This seems to be the theme of the Giants run.
Ryan Grant was the qualifier today?

I don't get it. One team loses and suddenly the regular season doesn't matter? Ravens and Texans may both be better teams than the Patriots but the Pats have homefield and will only have to face the Ravens next week to get into the Superbowl now. The 49ers beat up on some pussified teams but got homefield and a bye and beat a, quite possibly, better team. The Giants beat the Packers. Ok. Big deal.

The thread title is hyperbolic.

This is why they play the games, you know...to see who is better when it really counts. If you don't like it, you have the BCS where champions are decided by computers, coaches and reporters, how much more exciting can it get than that!
Did not say I did not like it, just stating a matter of fact. Truth is in many ways I like the regular season - especially in baseball - better because that is when the "regular" fans can afford to go to the games. Once playoff time comes many get shut out because of the rise in prices and limited availability and a lot of seats going to more well heeled bandwagoners and corporate types.

Meh, Eagles would still do just enough not to be relegated, and hang around the middle/bottom of the "Gold Standard" division.

They would have to fire Andy to get relegated.
