Default Once again the Regular Season does not matter
Putting this here, because it's the most relevant, but it seems like in every sport the regular season does not matter, it's whatever teams get hot and can get in the playoffs. I really don't know if it's good or bad for sports, or anything you can do, but it seems that is the way it will be in all sports from now on.

If they hadn't shit the bed so bad the first 12 games, maybe they wouldn't. Maybe OP should amend his statement to the hottest team that qualifies for the playoffs.

Wouldn't that directly contradict why the regular season does not matter...the regular season does matter.

It does matter....somewhat. As long as you qualify for the playoffs.

I t matters as far as getting into the playoffs, but for as a predictor of who will win in the playoffs, that may not be so.

9-7 is no better then 15-1. 102 wins is not better then 88.

This is why they play the games, you know...to see who is better when it really counts. If you don't like it, you have the BCS where champions are decided by computers, coaches and reporters, how much more exciting can it get than that!

I'm going to be pissed if it ends up being Patriots vs Giants again. It sucks hating both teams.

Packers got a week off and got to play the game at home for their efforts. What else would you like, a 10 point lead to start the game?

Sad to say, I agree with you here. A bye week and home field are what you play for. For 3 of the 4 teams playing this weekend, it may have been a difference maker.

Was making an observation about changing trends in sports. Also does this stop teams from gearing up, so to speak, instead hop they can catch lightening in a bottle.

7 out of 8 if you include the games last week.

Except Rex Ryan. He says if he played them, he'd beat them.

Is there anyone named Ryan on the Niners?

This seems to be the theme of the Giants run.
