Default NFL Football in LA, who dat?
Casey Wasserman and Tim Leiweke have investigated the probability of building a 72,000-seat stadium behind Staples Center, where the West Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center now sits.

In December Leiweke set a deadline anticipating a cleared negotiation with Los Angeles over control of the current convention center and ownership of the land and an agreement with the NFL over the likelihood of a team moving to Los Angeles.

AEG owner Philip Anschutz currently is not in support of the project. Anschutz has discussed with five teams: former Los Angeles teams San Diego Chargers, St. Louis Rams, and Oakland Raiders, plus Minnesota Vikings.

The Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars and San Francisco 49ers are no longer candidates for relocation.

On August 9, 2011, the LA City Council approved plans to build Farmers Field in a 12-0 vote. The stadium will become home to an NFL team and is expected to open in 2016.

So, who do you think will play in Farmers Field?

An NFL team in Los Angeles? Over Al Davis' dead body.

I don't know if the NFL wants that. They have their divisions set up pretty nicely now with 4 teams in each divisions and 4 divisons in each conferance. If they add a team, or 2, they go back to some divisons with 5 teams and some with 4. That would not be the end of the world, I just dont know if they want that.

I voted Vikes, but mostly out of wishful thinking. I expect it will be the Jags.

that probably makes more sense than any move outside of the Raiders. Now that Davis is gone I bet they move back, and its also easiest for the league, no reshuffling of divisions needed.

I vote no one.

I'm still holding out hope that the NFL realizes that the downtown stadium plan is really not all that AEG wants them to believe it is and goes with Roski's plan just north of Anaheim.

Why does it say the Jags are no longer candidates for relocation?

They seem to be the team that needs a fresh start the most.

I'm guessing Minnesota was so low last year because they only played six or so games there?
