Prices almost inevitably go up, however as mentioned above it's a very ill-timed move.

Looking at MLB last time they had a labor rift if you will, the sport lost a lot of fans, some forever. With the social climate being pretty heated (class warfare so-to-speak, which is a discussion for another site altogether), to me it seems a lot of folks will just see this as another attempt by the rich to get richer or maintain status-quo. I would agree with that sentiment considering it would seem the owners and the league are trying to recoup some of the revenue they've already lost as a result of the lock-out they imposed.
