Michael Vick was runner up to be on the cover of Madden. Ray Lewis is all over tv. I think he'll be alright.

Idiots without a filter is a FANTASTIC thing. Maybe it will encourage young athletes to continue their education, to not end up looking mentally insufficient to millions of people.
LOL. I agree.

But I remember the days when a guy fresh off a colasal fuckup in the Super Bowl would have the good grace to shut the fuck up.

It's like Scott Norwood in 1991 saying "Saddam really ain't all that bad, you aint seen both sides, those Kurds couldn't have all died from a gas attack, some of them was going to die from hunger anyways."

Few minutes before he posts about "what would God think of your heart", he's posting about women giving bjs and doing "nasty shit". Not that it should matters what this one moran thinks/believes but still funny.

Last time I celebrated anything being killed, was when Mendenhall KILLED the Steeler's chances in the Super Bowl.

I don't follow Twitter at all, but I think its funny more than anything. A lot of these guys are rich and famous, but it doesn't buy them intelligence or common sense. Also, teams are far more forgiving of star athletes than marginal players, or even coaches for that matter.

Mendenhall is going nowhere, especially with the way they treated the whole Big Ben fiasco.

I don't follow it or care to.

But the instant reactions of small minds are awesome.

BTW they did dump Holmes and RBs are easier to dump than your starting QB.

I love people who tell you that only God can judge people but then make statements that imply a judgment.

Perhaps he should just stick with football and let his legs do the talking.

Surprised he didn't fumble the phone while he was tweeting.

Sounds like contact on the field has taken a toll on the marbles in his head.

You are correct, and if this had happened before the draft, maybe I'd feel differently about it. I still think they're not going to move him at this point, but I imagine the owner being quite pissed right about now.

I would fully support legislation making it illegal for pro athletes using twitter.
The only thing Twitter has done is state the obvious. There are guys out there with million dollar bodies and brains worth a buck seventy-eight. The bigger tragedy is morons getting scholarships to higher education.

I agree, but that's for a whole different topic. B/C a guy can jump high, run fast, or throw hard (amongst other things), they have been blessed beyond belief with fame and fortune. While there are some very intelligent athletes out there, many of these guys would've been lucky to make it out of the 8th grade if they didn't have the "measurables."

I disagree, if these guys would have something called common sense everything would be ok.
Common sense is not all that common, especially in a sport where head injuries reign supreme.

My viewpoint is that its his right as an American to say how he feels but his timing sucks and his opinion is not the popular one and the fact that he plays for such a blue collar city who WILL NOT see it his way on this one.

LOL IMO he's fuckin' done in Pittsburgh..
Another 1200 yard, 13 TD season will make them forget pretty quickly.

Maybe, but his 4.2 YPC really isn't all that special. Part of that is probably due to the Steelers' offensive line as well as their overall gameplan.

Jerome Bettis averaged 3.9 YPC and lasted a while in Pittsburgh. But Bettis never made any comments that could be construed as anti-American (that I remember, at least.)
