Default $900 for Super Bowl parking spot?
http://sports.espn.go.com/dallas/nfl...ory?id=6060856

If you're lucky enough to have a ticket to Super Bowl XLV between Pittsburgh and Green Bay, then the next step is to find parking near Cowboys Stadium. And that might be more expensive than the ticket.

According to ParkWhiz.com there is a spot available a 10th of a mile from Cowboys Stadium going for $990 at 908 North Collins at Ticketsource.com Parking. To be fair, you would have access to a restroom, on-site security and the ability to tailgate.
The other prices range from $550 at Ballpark Valero Event Parking, which is one-10th of a mile away to $55 at Five Georges Parking, a mile away near Six Flags.

With each and every day, I'm more amazed.

I had no idea the Super Bowl was all about the elite in society. The common man has no place there. I'm actually disgusted.

Tickets currently range from $2500 to $20,000. I didn't realize the NFL was so broke and in need of cash.

That's funny, I've always looked at it that way. I think Bill Simmons wrote about it once, saying something to the effect of seeing a ton of people in suits.

I heard an estimate for consumer spending for this Super Bowl. over 10 billion and that doesnt count people going to the game.

the lockout will affect everyone.

And thats the beauty of it all. People selling all their cars, other valuables, wiping out the kids college funds and savings accounts all to go to one fucking three hour sporting event. Then they can come home and "say they were there when..." and then realize they just dug themselves decades worth of holes.

Not really. It's not like shes the only one. You know there are many like her who wipe everything out in their lives so they can just stand on their soapboor cardbox box after the house gets foreclosed) to "say they were there...".

I also find it funny (actually sad) because there was a recent article in the local news about the NFL having regular meetings with the merchants (mainly restaurants) of Sundance Square. Sundance Square is the heart of downtown Fort Worth and where ESPN will be having their Super Bowl HQ. The NFL was asking for the merchants not to gouge their prices during Super Bowl week. Obviously, the NFL is exempt from that kind way of thinking. Do as I request, not as I do.

whom is the NFL gouging?

the price people are paying for the ticket is NOT face value. its scalped. with the 5 grand this chick is paying, she is getting airfare, hotel, etc and a scalped(brokered) ticket.

Championship game in '96, people paid hundreds, even thousands for that ticket, I paid $66, face value. its all about who you know.

Hmmmm....so Ticketmaster is selling scalped tickets?

The website has this note>>>>>>Note: Prices can often exceed face value. All prices in US dollars (USD).......but I would suspect that is some 'small fees'.

I paid $1050 each for tickets to the NFC Championship game in Green Bay. Face value was something like $275.
