Default HOF: Corey Dillon
The Priest Holmes poll got me wanting to bring up potential HOFers every once in a while and put it to a vote.

11,241 yards rushing, 4.3 yards/attempt
1,913 yards receiving, 7.8 yards/catch
13,154 yards from scrimmage
82 rushing touchdowns
7 receiving touchdowns

Playoff highlight: ~300 yards rushing, 2 TDs in the 2004 playoffs, en route to a Superbowl victory.

4 time pro-bowler
7 seasons with over 1,000 yards
5 seasons with 10+ TDs scored

28 fumbles in 2,862 touches

So, is Corey Dillon a HOFer?

I'll add, Dillon is:

18th all-time in rushing attempts
17th all-time in rushing yards
16th all-time in rushing TDs
23rd all-time in rushing yards per game
30th all-time in rushing + receiving TDs
34th all-time in yards from scrimmage
20th all-time in total touches

Would you agree Curtis Martin is a definite HOFer?

Lynn Swann. Once they lowered the bar for WR to the point where he got in, Irvin wasn't a big deal. Not at all.

I'd say most of his stats are of the "best player on a bad team" category. And I don't consider that HOF quality material.

Dillon's numbers are only a few thousand yards off of Martin's numbers. I tend to think of Martin as a definite HOFer so I think Dillon at least warrants some consideration.

But I agree -- Dillon falls short, especially when you consider guys like Fred Taylor have already surpassed Dillon and active RBs (Portis, Thomas Jones) will probably surpass Dillon. I don't think Portis or Jones belong at this point.
