Default HOF: Priest Holmes
Does Priest Holmes belong in the Hall of Fame?

8,172 yards rushing, 4.6 yards per carry, 86 TDs
339 receptions, 2,962 yards receiving, 8 TDs
98.5 yards from scrimmage per game in his career

This includes a 3 1/2 year span where he put up 7,500 yards from scrimmage and 76 TDs. Other legends have been inducted because of injury-shortened careers (Michael Irvin, Gale Sayers, etc.)

I understand that some of you just don't see the numbers here, but was anyone better then Priest for a 3 1/2 year span there from 2001-2004?

Priest, Tiki Barber and Terrell Davis only make Canton if they buy tickets.

Some might use the Gale Sayers line of reasoning..

If that was the case then they'd have inducted Terrell Davis a long time ago.

Priest Holmes > Terrell Davis.

When it comes to Tiki, though, I think he might make it. He's 12th all-time in total yards from scrimmage. Everyone ahead of him is either inducted in the hall or on their way (LaDainian Tomlinson, Terrell Owens, Curtis Martin.)

The issue with Tiki is he didn't score enough touchdowns.

He'll get some talk, but I don't think he should make it in.

Tiki won't make it. Doesn't deserve to make it. All-time great Giant, not an all-time great player.

No one was better in that time than Priest, I will give you that. But as others have said before, 4 years does not make a Hall of Famer.

He will eventually get in though, as it seems every year there is a player or two who get in who are not deserving.

The Gale Sayers argument is old. Yes, he made it in with a short, brilliant career.

No, that does not mean that every player who was cut short should make it in with similar stats.
