I think the one team that would have vastly overpaid for Vick is off the market, so I think that needs to be considered.

Or Washington has one of the dumbest owners in the history of professional sports.
And we have a winner!

And yes, sadly I am a Redskins fan.

That it does.

If Vick outplays McNabb tonight, and the Eagles get into the playoffs and do well... that's the benchmark. And Banner won't shell out that kind of cash when Kolb is there (and cheap).
with what they gave him this year for no real reason, that remains to be seen.

Halfway through the Redskins' 16-game schedule, McNabb is the NFL's 28th-ranked passer with a 76.0 quarterback rating. He's averaging 246.4 yards per game (No. 13 in the NFL) and has seven touchdowns (tied for No. 26) and eight interceptions (tied for 10th most).

That's the benchmark for 40 MM guaranteed?
I wonder what Vick is worth?
Vick's worth his weight in Dogs..

Well, it's been a while since Danny Boy did something ridiculous, guess he was worried that people thought that someone with a clue was running the football operations.

This is lunacy.

As an Eagles fan, I love it.

Can't argue with that. And since he's already at 1 million dollars per turnover, he's basically playing his last seven games for free.

This doesn't really seem that ridiculous. Look what QBs get paid in the NFL. This is about on par with all of the QBs similar to McNabb's skill level.

Well Mcnabb looked pretty good last year (60.3%, 92.3 rating, 3553 yards, better than 2/1 td/int ratio in just 14 games) with a good team around him and his current team is pretty terrible. Get him some play makers and he'll look a hell of a lot better. He's not as old as you probably think. Not much of a line and not much for receivers is pretty tough to deal with. Of course, you have to feel you are getting somewhere in putting your team together to give a qb of his age a contract like this.

Eli and Palmer both got deals that are worth more per year and for more years. I don't think either are all that special. And who says McNabb is past his prime? He had one of the best years of his career last year.

He's 33 and not nearly as mobile as he used to be, throw in the fact that the Redskins arent as talented at WR as the Eagles are I think this is a move in the wrong direction for Washington. Not to mention, he's not like Tom Brady or Peyton. He doesnt deserve this kind of deal regardless of what he did "Last year."

Especially when his HC is pulling him at the end of the game cause his fat ass is too winded..

It makes some sense. The Redskins can build around McNabb. They've got a decent defense and some weapons on offense (Moss, Cooley, the Armstrong guy is fast.) Improving the line and bringing in a WR and RB would make the Redskins a pretty legitimate team.

Well part of your problem is you are believing Shanahan's BS stories.

Exactly. This isn't a guy you build around now. The ship has sailed.
