Default Palmer / Young hits
Two hits were made on QBs this week in two different NFC North games.

In one game, Carson Palmer is hit as he throws the ball away. In another, Vince Young is physically lifted into the air and body slammed into the ground. One was called a penalty. One wasn't.

First of all, the hit on Carson Palmer was not a penalty. That was a terrible call and I really can't believe a flag was thrown. Secondly, I'm not saying the hit on Vince Young should have definitely been a penalty -- but it was far dirtier than the hit on Palmer.

The hit on Vince was payback for his club altercation.

But seriously, you are right. That was an awful call.

To me, neither are a penalty hit. If Vince didn't want to get popped, throw the ball away. On the flip side, Suggs got there as Palmer delivered the pass. I see no foul in either play.

I don't see a penalty in either player either. However, if ONE of those plays was going to have to be a penalty, I would say it would be the hit on Young. I can't remember the last time I saw three defenders lift a QB up and almost throw him on his head.
