Default Gary Kubiak is a joke
Calling a timeout right before a kick so he has to do it again? Give me a fucking break. That's like standing in front of the TV during a video game. I don't care if it's "strategic" or "good for your team". It makes you look like a fucking sleezy jackass.

Every coach does that. Never heard of icing the kicker before?

Coaches have been "icing the kicker" for decades but only in the past few years has it meant having to make the kick more than once.

Making the kicker think about it is fine.

Making the kicker make the kick more than once is total bullshit. Needs to be a rule against it (similar to MLB when the ump won't give a batter timeout.)

Funny, but wasnt it Shanahan on the other sideline who started this 'calling the timeout' at the last instant stuff a few years ago?

Too fucking bad for him and the Redskins.

Make it twice and theres no problem.

You shouldn't have to make it twice. That's the point.

And it's fine unless you make the kicker kick it again. That's when it gets to being bullshit.

Hey, Kubiak learned it from his former head coach... you should be saying Mike Shanahan is a joke.

This time the protege' turned the tables on the teacher.

Like was stated before, too fucking bad for Shanahan and the Redskins.

Yes. Shanahan got some of his own medicine today.

Kubiak should've paraded Rackers out there for a 53 yard attempt in OT anyways though.

What are you belly aching about? Already stated but kick it again. Made it the first time. That should have given Gano the confidence he could do it again.

I think it was all well and good strategy.

And how precisely would a rule be crafted against this? You can call a timeout up to what point?

It might be 'BS', but if a coach has an extra Time Out to throw away, he's gonna pull this stunt and make the kicker repeat the FG attempt.

Gano should have heard the whistle and not bothered to kick it. It's not like Kubiak knows when the snap is going to happen. I don't even see why there is an issue here.

Hmmmm, every team in the league does this as far as I know.

Or bluffs doing it like Shennanigans did in OT.

Kickers should just make the kicks. When it stops working, then people will stop doing it.

Classic case of My team doing it "Greatest Coaching Job Ever"

I don't have a real problem with the idea of icing the kicker (though as a viewer, it blows). But the ref ought to have a half-second delay in blowing that whistle... if the coach wants to start cutting it close, a couple of 'missed chances' might just ease up on this behavior.
