Default A Quote on Favre this morning..
Listening to NFL on Sirius, Gil Brandt and the other guy who's name escapes me at the moment, had this to say.

"With Brett Favre the Vikings are a superbowl contender, without him they dont make the playoffs."

Not sure I agree with that.

You think Sage or Tavaris can lead the to the playoffs? I think it would be real tough.

What im saying is that line of thinking doesnt say much for the rest of the team....

Because if this is the case, its Superbowl this year or years of regretting the whole Favre experiment. I say that because in signing Brett they didnt draft or go the McNabb route.

No regret, they can go after the best available QB whenever Favre decides to hang em up. There is ALWAYS a better QB available than the other 2 schmucks on that team. Also, I agree, without Brett this year, they aren't a playoff team.

They won the division in 2008 with Gus and T-Jack splitting time.......

I have confidence in Jackson.

It'll be difficult for them to make it with those QB options, but not impossible. The Vikings knew what they were getting into. They were basically going for it all last year. Brett helping get them so close last year may be hurting them this year because if he hadn't gotten so close and had such a good year, I think it would've been easier for him to retire earlier... of course with Brett, that probably wouldn't have happened either.

We'll see though... I'll believe it when I see it. I could see him come back even mid-season ala Roger Clemens. I'd think that would be too difficult to do successfully in football, but I could see them try.

They still have a very good defense and when not fumbling AP is still one of the best RB in the NFL

I hate Favre so damn much.

Makes me laugh so hard every time and I hope this is what will amount to as his last play ever.

The dude from Hawaii?

Kid was awesome in college, but he played in the WAC. I mean, it's the WAC. Not exactly a prime exhibit.

But the kid can air it out.

You know what I really like? When you get that behind view, that huge hole that is there right side for the RB to take the "game winning FG" yards...

He WAS 4th string for the Skins, but they traded for Jeff Beck.

I'll believe it when I see it, but he will be missed. He sucked against the Eagles and I was looking forward to another pick-fest this season.

In twelve games, he is 5-7, with a 54% completion percentage, 12 TDs and 20 picks. That's the Brett Favre I know and love.

Does that include playoff games?

I do.

All day they've been debating this subject- 'w/o Favre what are the Viqueens capable of?'

They'll have a helluva time making the playoffs w/o him.

W/o him, the Packers are the team to beat in the NFC North.
