So the NFC East shouldn't take credit for what the NFC East had accomplished? I guess I shouldn't be surprised you'd make an argument like that. The Viqueens have been to the SB *multiple* times. They've been there as many times as the Bills. And even the Tampa Bay Bucs won the thing.....the Bucs have a trophy that the Eagles don't. (Only the Lions haven't been there or won it). And no, the Eagles shouldn't take credit for what other teams in the NFC East have accomplished. |

You are at your reading comprehension problems again. We are talking about divisions. You are randomly talking about me taking credit for what other teams in the division have done. Your inability to focus on the point at hand is incredible. The NFC North has a huge one based on tradition and championships between the Bears and Pack- two of the oldest teams in the NFL. The Eagles enjoy one with the Giants based primarily on proximity to the city of NY, with the Washington Redskins for the same reason, and with the Cowboys based upon the Cowboys always punking the Eagles. The Eagles can't claim SB titles but *can* claim the ability to throw batteries at Santa and cheer Michael Irvin getting a concussion. Just because you dislike folks from NY, DC or Dallas doesn't make it an NFL rivalry until you guys win something to put on your finger- like the other teams have done. You don't see Lions fans in here talking about how they're the real rival of anybody in the NFCN now do ya??? |

Please don't try to take credit for what the Giants, Cowboys and Redskins have accomplished. |

I dislike, but respect Bear fans. Been to Soldier Field and had a great time, but also have been 'downtown' Chicago and hassled by everyone for my Packer hat, of course this was only because they were winning at the time.
I hate the vikings AND their fans, especially the ones that come to Green Bay for games. I generally dont give those in the area a chance at all, unless they were from MN AND I have to work with them. Id love to throw some 'bows with the Farve fan jackasses in the area that still think they are Packer fans. |

Please don't let Straw be our side of the arguement. His should be stricken from record. The Philadelphia Eagles remain the only team in the NFC East not to win a Super Bowl. The Cowboys lead with five, followed by the Redskins and Giants, tied with three. However, the Giants hold the better winning percentage (3-1, .750), followed by the Cowboys (5-3, .625), then the Redskins (3-2, .600). The Eagles are 0-2. Back to the core argument - can't deny that Packers-Bears is the longest running rivalry. Eagles and Giants and Redskins all go back to the 30's, which is no slouch - only the Cowboys are the relative newcomers. I can't see this link, but it's referenced from Wikipedia - I know Cowboys-Skins are on this list, but I don't know where/how it ranks (I'm sure Pack/Bears are on here as well...) http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/mul...15/gallery.old rivals/content.10.html |

Most people think their Rivalary is the best. I think one needs a bit of audacity to say one is "better" or "bigger" then the other. But I think it's possible to pull back and look at divisions. And I don't think there are any other divisions that stack up to the NFCN and NFCE. Part of that is because of the realignment in 2002 - the AFCN is probably 3rd (but it sure would help if the Browns could be competitive). But I look at the teams in those top two: Vikings, Packers, Bears, Lions Cowboys, Eagles, Giants, Redskins Even though the Skins are the current 'weak sister' of the East, those games are still rivalry games, and they play tough. The Lions have fallen so far, I think they are more pitied than anything else. Once the Lions prove to be competitive, I guess there could be an argument in favor of the North. But they'd have to win more than just a few games here and there - they'd have to play spoiler, or offer a few beatdowns in the playoffs... |

The thread is about NFL rivalries (not how much you hate folks from other areas). |

Packer fans will always cheer the lesser evil at the time. Chicago was done, the Vikings were trying to wrap up a 2 seed, therefore, people wanted the Bears to win. |

The NFC East? Freakin baseball fans. Seriously, my friends and co-workers loyalties are all over the map. On the east coast if you ask a man on the street who his favorite team is, you get Steegles. If you ask in the midwest, you get fahvra. And speaking of Favre, I saw a special about him on the NFL Network last night. My God, what a bumpkin! The outfit he wore to his high school graduation would pass as a halloween costume in most places. |
