Obviously I get to go in and sit in a Dome for games, but on January 1, 2006, I went to the Vikes/Bears game....3:15 start. Completely hungover from New Years, I was out tailgating by 9am. The air temp was about 0 degrees...wind chill much worse than that. Tailgated for a good 6 hours. Easily the coldest I've ever been. I just kept drinking and drinking and drinking trying to warm up, but none of it made any difference. I even had my shoes off by the end because it was easier to warm up my feet by the fire without my shoes on.
Vikes won 34-10...Mike Tice was fired after the game. We tailgated another couple hours afterwards for some reason. |

My coldest game:
Dec 19th 2004 Jacksonville @ GB. Temperature was around 9, wind chill around -3 (at 3pm est). It got colder as the game went on. BTW I was already a 5 year South Florida resident by then, so my blood was pretty thin. I flew in friday night from wearing shorts and flip flops a couple hours before to being blasted by the cold in Milwaukee (and that was in the 20's). My body was in a bit of shock getting off the plane, and that was the moderate weather. I adjusted by Sunday, but that was cold. A lot of fun, but cold. A couple years later my brother went to the NFC Championship game vs the giants where he said his beer froze. He said that was even colder than the jax game. |
