If refs are going to bow down and suck their dicks when they complain, I guess they should do it.
Duno if you saw Favre a few games ago, there was a ref helping him put his shoulderpad back into his jersey.

Nope, no favortism.

I've seen that for all sorts of players. Helping a guy straighten his uniform isn't a big deal.

Was Favre whining about the contact as well?

Favre through his entire career played to the refs for Defensive Holding. This is nothing new, just more QBs are doing it these days.

Default NFL... acting classes.
I'm disgusted.

QBs whining to the refs for a flag? Punters 'sellling' contact?

I'm hoping a coach like Singletary or Rex Ryan sends a message about this crap.

If I were a coach, and a player on the opposition started whining for a penalty call like Tom Brady or some of the punters have been doing, I'd ask a player to take a REAL penalty on purpose. Put a hard-ass hit on a punter, take the 15 yard penalty, and in the post game press conference suck up the fine by saying 'the moment certain players start respecting the game, we'll start respecting them. I have no problem with my player who hit that player. If the opposing player wants to play a non-contact, acting-oriented sport, he should try out for major league soccer.'

Oh, I'd also tell my players in no uncertain terms that such acting on our side would be unforgivable. You play to win the game. The refs do what they do to keep it fair, if you are legitimately fouled, you can discuss it with the ref. There will be no acting, no pussification.

It would be nice if one of these games an official would toss a flag on the QB or Punter for hamming it up. It should fall under the category of Unsportsmanlike Conduct.

its sad, pro football is approaching soccer in the flopping and acting aspect. There definitely should be penalties for simulating interference or contact.

Maybe it'll be something for the competition committee to address in the offseason.

I'm getting tired of a player begging for a flag and getting it 10 seconds after the play.

I think Baltimore has been getting screwed lately on these. The last PI on them yesterday was a bad bad call.

That should happen - but I do like the MLB/NHL-esque 'send a message' that can happen on the field.

But the NFL have already proved that they are willing to protect the skirt wearers, and would just bring the fines for headhunting.

I have no problem with legitimate penalties being assessed. But if someone wants to play it up... well, then maybe somebody needs to send a message. Pay the fines. Put the fear of injury into the players who might try to ham it up - you think Brady stops whining if, after whining to the refs, a big DT hits him hard, late?

Yes, penalties will be assessed. Yes, fines will come. You tell Brady to man up, and let the REFS decide what's a penalty and what isn't - and if you lose a game because of it, so be it. You send a message, one that clearly the NFL isn't interested in sending.

I realize it's easy to play hard-ass from my office chair, though. Singletary and Ryan are the only coaches who might have the cojones to do this. And they'd probably aim for a punter first.

I guess I don't have a 'big' problem with a punter playing up contact. It's up to the ref to see if it's legit or not.

However, I absolutely despise the receivers that after EVERY incomplete pass that's thrown to them making the flag throwing gesture to the refs. A certain former Viking who's last name ended in '-oss' is good for that.

And for the record, I hate it when any Packer receiver does it as well.

I agree with you whole-heartedly on this one. On some level the guys need to just shut up and play the game. However, I don't mind it too much if they truly have a case to be made. If America can plainly see there was PI, I don't mind the receiver getting pissed off either. They need to be a lot more choosy about the battles they pursue. Granted they don't often win those arguments, but it doesn't seem to keep them from letting that sand in their vaginas bother them.

I wonder how much Reggie Miller is getting paid to teach professional athletes how to act. He was the kind of that shit. He could get a fowl by just launching himself to the ground even when the nearest player was 25 feet away.

I agree. That flag in the Broncos-Patriots game was ridiculous. I want to see a linebacker/linemen take a helmet to Brady's knee.

Something needs to be done. Will it be the NFL or a team that does something about it, though.
