John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports former Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy met with suspended Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Vick Tuesday, May 5, at the federal prison in Leavenworth, Kan. "I can confirm that Michael met with coach Dungy," Vick's agent, Joel Segal, said. "The discussions were private, but the meeting was very positive." Vick met with Dungy to discuss his life after he gets out of prison.

Didn't Dungy's son kill himself? What one's family member can do when dad's not around shouldn't be tagged onto dad as a failure with regard to raising his son. Tony Dungy was devastated at losing his son, if you don't recall. That Colts team wasn't the same that playoff season and anybody could tell that from 2000 miles away. I'm actually appalled by the callousness of your response, to be honest. Dungy's very much a stand-up guy and i'm glad to see he's doing something to try to make Vick see how wrong his life was. Dungy's one of those rare people. He seems to reach the ears of entire football teams while never raising his voice. He doesn't threaten or curse. But he still gets his team to play for him in ways other coaches couldn't. |

Ignorant post of the day, without a doubt. Step down from your self-righteous soapbox for a minute. Your son is millionaire ballplayer. One day, not only is all of that taken away, he is also are bankrupt and in federal prision. He thinks about suicide every day, maybe even all day. You have a choice of people for him to talk to. You choose Dungy? I am sure he's a nice guy and he's sad and remorseful and all of that. None of that makes him qualified to counsel anybody. |

I'm not sure if Dungy was chosen to go speak with Vick. It sounds to me that he's offering advice. And from someone who has seemingly rebounded from recent hard times, i think he's a great candidate to give advice about putting the pieces back together. And its probably a plus that he's from the industry that Vick hopes to get back into.

Okay. Just so happens that this time he chooses Michael Vick. I think it was a grand gesture by the man. |

Or disqualified. Dungy isn't claiming to be a licensed shrink. Dungy isn't claiming to be some guiding light in Vick's life. He's a football guy with a solid head on his shoulders speaking to a football guy with some loose gears. To bring Dungy's son into the conversation is completely classless and baseless. No go over to the board where they make fun of people who get their face shot off. |
