NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The NFL has fined Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth $5,000 for a hard tackle against Jacksonville last week.
He was fined for unnecessary roughness after slamming Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew to the ground during Sunday's game at Jacksonville, NFL spokesman Corry Rush said Friday. Haynesworth was penalized 15 yards at the time. Asked earlier in the week if he would be gentler on running backs after the penalty, Haynesworth said, "No. Not at all. I'm not going to be any gentler or whatever." But he added, "Maybe I'll just help them up." Last season, Haynesworth was suspended for five games for stomping on Dallas center Andre Gurode's helmetless head during a game. |
