Interesting read and all, but he made his wife skip one of her best friend's weddings so she could watch him in a preseason game? Lame. |

figures that would be the woman's point of view. it couldve been his last game ever. who does she love more, her friend or her husband with an NFL dream that is about to fizzle. He's saying his life is more important than hers. And that is unacceptable. |

Oh Christ. Put it in perspective. It's his job. Would you tell your wife she had to skip her best friend's wedding to come watch you at work the day before a big layoff? |

lets clarify, they said "one of her best friends" not her best friend, and they probably only used that word to make the story more dramatic. and youre damn right what he was doing was more important than a friggin wedding, chances are, she doesnt work, because he plays football. she owes him that game at the very least. And you are clarifying "best friend" v. "one of her best friends" while taking a leap to state that she must not work because she is married to him? |

He used the word -- not "they." and I said she probably doesnt work because he is in the NFL, most NFL wives DONT work. to assume she aint working is not too much of a stretch is it? now settle down counselor. |

1) If the player was a fringe player, I'm sure the wife was working. And her job would probably be what they subsist off of now.
2) Let her go to the wedding! She's seen you play before, I'm sure, and your job becomes the perfect excuse to not have to go with. PLus, she'll likely be frisky afterwards. |

[/indent]whatever. I side with the player, you chicks side with the wife. Why be a quitter? Go play in arena league or Canada. Big baby. |

Perhaps he shouldn't have sucked so badly, or at least seen the writing on the wall. To me, it'd be like missing husband's retirement party because 'an old friend' was getting married. Sorry, husband trumps friend. He needed support on this. Family should always come before friends (except when your family sucks) |

now youre putting words in my mouth. not cool. And how is telling her she needs to come to the game not indicating his life is more important? |

Guy doesn't need to do that. He has other business ventures lined up and sounds like he saved pretty well. My friends are my family. My friend's wedding trumps watching my husband do his job. If he loses his job, I support him. In this case, his wife is struggling with the decision and he makes it for her by saying she needs to be there to watch. That makes his job/dreams more important than her being there to support a friend. All I know is that I wouldn't want to make that call to anybody I call one of my best friends. |
