Wait, you mean there are Black coaches in the Super Bowl? Surely you'd think CBS/E*PN/FOX/etc. would be covering this ad nauseum.

The next 2 weeks were going to be hell, every way. Be it black coaches, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, or the city of New Orleans.

The Superbowl will be now shown on BET.

Best question ever by a reporter?

"So how long have you been a black coach?"

I've always thought that Americans came in all colors, it's the media (mostly) that separates us. During the Sept 11 attacks thats what they were describes as attack on the "Americans". All people of color (by color, I mean white, black, brown, yellow, and red) were affected by the attacks.

But at the same time blacks do perpetuate/bring about this divide by shows like BET or the term "black colleges". We are taught (I believe it was Newton, no not Fig Newton) . . ."that where there is an action, there is an opposite and equal reation" (or something to that effect).

Anyways point taken, besides that's a different subject.

Ironic, isn't it? That in America, the world's melting pot, in a society in which we are ostensibly tring to erase divisiveness over racial differences, that the media places such importance on the coaches' race. In defense of Lovie Smith and Tony Dungy, they tended to downplay it. Like Ima said, a great coach is a great coach no matter what skin he inhabits.

The media divides us?

Been to any major cities lately?

And Black colleges are called that because they were started for blacks who couldn't attend state universities in the south.
