See fan, packer fans always bring up history as to why Vikings will choke/not win division

but when it comes to Pack in playoffs, it's...new season..never coutn out ole number 4, last year was different, bad coaching, etc.

so what is it? new season, or past DOES matter?

EVERY fan of EVERY team uses biased historical info
I believe you brought up football history in this discussion. And the Vikings' choke habit.

So which is it for me ? Flip a coin.

I just can't buy the Packers falling that far. I think the defense will surprise all of us.
You know, because I like Packer fans, I hope you're right....but I just don't think you are.

And Vick did what to you guys? Bringing up the past to prove a point is useless.

I'm not trying to be trendy, and I'm not trying to to be cliche. I don't even remember last year's predictions, by experts or otherwise.

And again, I hope you're right. I just don't think so this year.
I'm not saying you are wildly out of line. It could happen that way.

My only point was, as a Packer fan who has heard many experts (and not-so experts) over the last few years predict our demise, it's just not something to get riled up over either way.

But consider how HORRID our D was last year. Could it have been worse ?

Who won the division ?

Vick's OT run vs VIkings will always remain a career highlight

many players have career highlights vs vikings defense..kind of embarrassing actually

So is it, past will dicatate vikings choking
but not packers lack of making the NFC champ game since 97?
You are making an excellent and repetitive argument for the Vikes choking. I'm not sure who else is. I do think it weighs on the team's mind as well. Kind of distracting -- or it would be for me.

I'd say the Packers are due, though.

It's kinda tough to get pissed to the same degree after hearing much of the same type of prediction year after year.

It's more of a yawn.

I'll still throw in a ho hum kind of disagreement, and try not to wink.
Kinda like the weatherman forecasting rain, eh?

What did you expect, some Seattle fan coming here to debate?
Ouch.

Seahawks will win the division. Fuck the Rams.

I click on your posts anyway.

But I see your point.
You are the most powerful poster on these boards. This concerns me.

You left out our two biggest acquisitions, Jamie Sharper and Andre Dyson.

Oh and... I understand people not thinking of the Seahawks as winners seeing they havent won a playoff game in 20 years but to say they havent improved this year is inaccurate.
But to say they haven't improved enough is, I believe. I'm not ignorant, I don't doubt that small upgrades have been made for your team, and I'll also admit that I don't follow your team at all. That being said, I'd bet the farm that your team has made upgades every off season for years now, and it never pans out, hence my lack of any sort of confidence in things being any different this year than in past years.

I know Packer Land will be pissed. But honestly, with Detroit and Minny both out for blood, I don't know that GB stands a chance.
Maybe so but its the same rhetoric every year. I think as long as Brett is playing it is GBs to lose, not knocking any other team. Look at last year our defense was horrid. Bates alone is improvement, IMO.

I'm not trying to make a case, it happened.

PART of my viking history, is choking. It's in our blood. it is our shame

it is something i hope to see cured.
I simply couldn't resist my temptation. Forgive me for I have sinned.

I'll give you Bryce Fisher, he was pretty successful in STL. 8.5 sacks isn't something to take lightly. However, that's just one year of production. You can't really tell the caliber of player you're dealing with after seeing only one good year. As for Herndon, I don't know enough about the guy, but I know he's young and also hasn't really proven anything yet. They might be upgrades, they might not.

I stick to my point, I am not sold on Seattle doing anything above medocrity this year.

Good Favre Y.O.M. You been hanging with Ricky Williams?
