Like i've said before there is nothing wrong with asking but if the team doesn't want to offer up a new deal thats their right under the CBA, just like it's their right to cut a player. And really is TO gonna lose money if the Eagles cut him? Is Walker gonna lose money if the Packers cut him? Nope on both cases it's the role players and back ups who lose money if they are cut. So when i hear little Drew cry about how the Eagles can cut him anytime i just chuckle. The best thing for TO would be for the Eagles to cut him.

And lets lay the blame where it belongs, TO signed a bad deal. And if i heard right the NFLPA told him it was a bad deal too. Yet he decided to take the deal. So he has no one to blame for his contract but himself. Trying to bully his way for a new deal is just bush IMO.

No. Pro athletes are all ready paid way to much money. When we start paying cops, firefighters, soldiers, teachers and anyone else that actually does a job, not a sport, more money, then I would agree with TO getting more money.
no TO shouldnt get more money, but this argument is just silly.

I think he's being an idiot. He would have gotten a contract this year if he came to camp. He may not now. However, he will be an Eagle this year. He has no choice.

His situation is very odd, though. He came to voluntary camps and worked out with McNabb in Arizona. Then, he doesn't report to camp. Very odd.
Maybe something happened between himself and the Eagles. He may have been told he wasn't getting a new contract. Either way he should be making more then avg for starting running backs.

Default T.O. booed today
I can understand why T.O. would want a new contract. Teams can cut a player and decide not to honor a contract at any time, and sometimes for little or no penlties. Hes not a holdout though, yet anyways. He showed up to camp, by all reports worked hard, and talked about getting a new contract.

The question i have for all of you is this.
How do you feel about the T.O. situtation, would you consider giving him a new contract?

I can understand his side of it, but i agree with you guys. He made 9 something million last year and i think thats enough for anybody. Brain Westbrook on the other hand is in the right i believe. He made like 380k last year and i believe hes more important to this Eagles team then TO.

It's the same situation as Eddie Drummond. If he doesn't sign his tender offer his rights will remain with the Lions. So holding out doesn't mean jack. And the Liosn said they wont discuss a long term deal until he signs that tender.
Well, Westy already signed his one year deal and is scheduled to become a UFA at the end of this year but if he doesn't show up by next week he losses that right.

When people start demandng to watch cops, firefighters, soldiers, teachers, and anyone else that does a job do their job, enticing advertisers and networks to shell out money to be associated with those jobs, then those people will be making more money.

It's a matter of supply and demand. If you don't like how much athletes make, stop contributing by watching and attending events.

My knee hurts.

I've got this stuff from Bonds. It says steroids on it, but I'm not sure if I should use it. That's the bigger issue at hand.

Yes i forgot to mention that and i'm glad you brought it up. He should have signed a 4-5 year deal not a 7 year deal. I do agree its his own fault and thats a mistake hes going to have to live with.

On a side note what do you guys think about Brain Westbrook? He only made like 380 thousand. He signed a one year deal for like 1.5 million, what do you think about his holdout?

From what I heard, which could be wrong. If he doesn't show up by next week, he is the Eagles property for another year.

For some, it's simply a matter of demand. A healthy supply of demanding.

He's pretty much ensuring that Ryan Moats will be in the Eagles long range plans.

Teams do honor the contract. Terms of the contract allow the team to terminate rhe contract at any time. Players get a signing bonus that they do not neccesarily have to earn.

no TO shouldnt get more money, but this argument is just silly.
It only is because fans support paying huge amount of money to these guys by going to games and buying team appearal. (myself included) I know its not an argument I can win. But it is sad the people who actually make a difference in this country don't get paid what they should. Should the be making millions, no. But neither should someone for playing a game.
