Well, I decided to get an order established for the seedings. Note - This is not my personal ranking of the quarterbacks.

I used passing yards, touchdowns, interceptions, passer rating, and team wins in the calculations. If a quarterback was injured last year, I used their numbers from the previous season (I think I only had to do this 1 or 2 times). A reminder that this isn't meant to be a definitive list, but something I've used to set up an order for seeding. It's based on stats, not opinion, and I'm sure in spite of it, someone's going to be pissed off that quarterback X got a higher/lower seeding than quarterback Y.

Calculated seedings (If there is a definite other starting quarterback than the one I have listed for each team, please let me know so I can adjust accordingly):
1] Peyton Manning, IND
2] Donovan McNabb, PHI
3] Daunte Culpepper, MIN
4] Drew Brees, SD
5] Steve McNair, TEN
6] Tom Brady, NE
7] Ben Roethlisberger, PIT
8] Brett Favre, GB
9] Trent Green, KC
10] Jake Delhomme, CAR
11] Marc Bulger, STL
12] Jake Plummer, DEN
13] Chad Pennington, NYJ
14] Matt Hasselbeck, SEA
15] Byron Leftwich, JAX
16] Aaron Brooks, NO
17] Michael Vick, ATL
18] David Carr, HOU
19] Brian Griese, TB
20] Drew Bledsoe, DAL
21] Joey Harrington, DET
22] Kyle Boller, BAL
23] Kurt Warner, ARI
24] Carson Palmer, CIN
25] Kerry Collins, OAK
26] Patrick Ramsey, WAS
27] Rex Grossman, CHI
28] Trent Dilfer, CLE
29] Tim Rattay, SF
30] JP Losman, BUF
31] Eli Manning, NYG
32] AJ Feeley, MIA
I'm boycotting this. Not for the usual reason, but because of the exclusion of Jon Kitna.

Default QB Elimination Tournament?
The idea was brought up in another thread, but this could be arranged as well as tournaments for other positions as something to do to pass the time until football season starts rolling. What do you guys think?

True, but I could also play devil's advocate and say that only ONE team had a meaningful victory last year -- the New England Patriots. All other wins were comparably meaningless.
exactly.

Boy, someone clearly didn't get the memo that Daunte Culpepper is terrible.
I didn't get that memo either. I think Daunte Culpepper's a damn good quarterback, and I'm a Packer fan. However, I don't think he can duplicate the stats he had last year, that may be a career year for him.

none of that EVER came from ANY Packer fans mouth on this board.
Except you. You know, the guy that's been telling me for the last day and a half about all of Daunte Culpepper's "errant passes" and how he's not that good? Yeah, you.

By the by, it was nice of you to completely ignore the fact that the great and powerful Packers haven't managed to get their hands on any of those "errant passes" since 2002, Moss or no Moss. I guess that if it doesn't fit in with you pissing all over #11, it doesn't count, right?

Here I thought Antoine Winfield had the quickest backpedal I've ever seen. . .but even that guy has nothing on you.

losing 2 guards when we have good depth isnt a big a deal as youre making it out to be. sharper is no where near pro bowl caliber anymore. get over it. Sharper is much better than the cast of has-beens and never-will-be's that the Pack is trying to replace him with.

And where's all this depth at guard? You mean the guy that's spent 75% of the last 2 seasons on IR? Or the other perpetually injured guy they signed?

Not all depth is good depth.

it would be kinda silly afc would come down to manning or brady nfc to culpepper vs mcnabb and both of those two would lose to either brady or manning
doubt it.

Just a random tournament where it's basically "Quarterback A vs. Quarterback B - Which QB do you think is better" deal. Quarterback could be replaced with other positions, as well.

I'm wondering what team Jon Kitna starts for.
He might be quarterbacking for Jeebus or something.

fred smoot is not very good.
Based on what? The fact that he's not a Philadelphia Eagle?
and the best CB tandem in the nfc resides in philly.
Never mind. . .the previous question has just been answered.

based on the fact that i've seen him play against james thrash.

but you're right. smoot is very good. i mean lots of teams let very good corners walk without offering them anything or even franchising them when they are entering what should be the prime of their careers.

please tell me how i was wrong about where the best CB tandem in the NFC resides.

Yes, I know he is. That's why I'm happy the Vikings signed him.

So, basically you're saying that Antoine Winfield sucks, too? And Samari Rolle? Because their teams just "let them walk away" without offering them anything or franchising them either.

Then again, I suppose that just like the Smoot situation, the cap situations of the teams those two guys left and the fact that their former teams couldn't pay them what they were worth has nothing to do with anything, yes? Or should we assume that in the cases of Smoot, Winfield, and Rolle, the Redskins, Bills, and Titans simply let all of them go because they sucked ass?

Because they reside in Minnesota. The end.

i'll take brown and sheppard over the two in minnesota. both of the eagles corners should have been probowlers last year, brown was robbed. but then again, maybe the entire starting secondary for one team being named to the probowl roster is one player too many.

The Vikes should just hope they don't play the Redskins this year.

Smoot will cry when he gives up another 100 yard game and couple of touchdowns to Thrash. Same goes for Eagles/Pinkston.

Sort of like Deion Branch vs. "the best secondary in the NFL," yes?

when have the redskins ever cared about their salary cap situation? i never said anyone sucked. you're making smoot out to be a great corner and the fact is he isn't. he isn't even close to being a great corner.

wow what a fun topic, good QB's, tons of arguin'. nothin can be better than that.
well anyway sully, i think you should probly change SF's QB to alex smith instead of rattay unless we are going for the game 1 most likely starter.
