And with all the supposed prestige and the incredible hype that surrounds the Heisman, I find that kind of surprising. If the guy is good enough to win the MVP, as it were, you'd think he'd be a first round pick. -He'll be 25 by the start of the season. -He's had HUGE knee injuries and currently has his ligaments have the durability of a wet noodle. -He's got average-to-below-average arm strength. -No mobility. Truth be told, if he woulda went to any mid-level school, he would never have won the Heisman and he would never have been a blip on the radar screen. |

The Kansas City Chiefs are giving rookie QB Jason White a shot. He has been invited to the Chiefs rookie mini-camp for this weekend. He will be allowed to compete for a spot. If he does well he might not be picked up by the Chiefs but other teams could show interest which isnt bad for White. He could make it as a back up somewhere in the league.

A lot of Heisman winners are just college players. They are great in college but the jump to the NFL is too much. For every Rashan Salam there is Barry Sanders. For every Ron Dayne there is an Earl Campbell, and for every Jason White or Gino Torretta, there is a Roger Staubach. There have been a lot of Heisman busts and a lot of Heisman greats.

Looking at Past Winners like Crouch, Salaam, Wuerfel, Dayne...It's more a curse to win the Heisman than a blessing. |
