Default Butkus and Nitschke will always
be the best at LB ever. Could you immagine if they took the juice like players do today.

Side note: I see congress wants info from Tags and the NFL.

I agree whole-heartedly. None better ever. Ray-Ray is great, and LT was force like no other, but not on the level of Butkus and Nitschke.

I met Nitschke once. An incredibly big-hearted man. As nice as nice could be. I still wouldn't have ever wanted to be hit by him though.

May he rest in peice as he heads Lombardi's defensive unit in heaven.

That he was. I wouldn't want to be in the opposing backfield and have those eyes glaring me down.

I remember one Nitschke story that made me laugh. The team was practing one say when some scalfding(sp) fell down on a player. Everyone ran over there and Vince right away asked if the player was ok and asked who it was. Someone told him it was Nitschke and he said oh hes all right back to practice. Turns out a screw was like a qrt. inch away from going thru Nitsckes helmet.
