Redskins | Coles for Moss Swap Appears Dead - from www.KFFL.com
Sat, 26 Feb 2005 16:41:28 -0800

<A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/9">ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports while the Washington Redskins were trying to light a fire under their potential deal with the New York Jets regarding a swap of WRs Laveranues Coles and Santana Moss, the deal now appears to be dead. The Jets backed off after representatives for Coles informed the Jets they would be looking to upgrade his contract if a trade was worked out. While the Jets were eager to re-acquire Coles, they wanted him under the terms of his seven-year, $35 million contract that he signed with Washington. Rather than taking the chance of a hold out from Coles, the team elected to end their pursuit of him.

I love Coles...I was hopin he'd sneak out and maybe the Iggles would pick him up

however, Moss is so explosive...if he could stay healthy and work on a few things...WOW...we all saw what he was capable of in 03

I think the Jets made a good move, getting someone more consitent in Coles...however if Moss plays up to potential, the Redskins will certainintly be far from screwed over
