There is still a chance that Holmgren will be the niners coach next year.

personally im not sold on pickett, if anybody really thinks he is our next star QB then i dont know what their thinking, its gonna be somebody else...
id rather it be someone already in the organization so we dont have to go for a QB in the draft but i dont see that happening sadly

I see Ken Dilger and Ricky Dudly are both FAs for Tampa. Knowing that GB is potentially in the TE market depending on how the Bubba Franks situation plays out. I could see the Pack going after one of those for a one year deal (considering they are both middle to late in their careers) and draft a promising TE in the later rounds. I also wouldn't be suprised if the Pack just did their best at resigning Franks.

I'm not sure of the CBs and Safeties in FA this year, but it looks like there could be a couple that might be ready to take that next step up to challenge for a starting position. However Safeties are what we should be looking for. I think Carrol and McKenzie will be pretty good in Bates' new m.o.m. style defense. Perhaps draft another CB in the mid rounds. Although, again with Bates' new defense it might open the way for Roman and Sharper to step up and make some big time plays like they are both capable of.

It seems as though anyone on the D-line is either out of the Pack's price range or not really worth the money. I could be wrong. Perhaps a steal there for a one year run or a trade for Green or Davenport with a RB drafted in the first day (second or third round).

Keep in mind though this is all speculation and a little wishful thinking on my part.

lol good one, that is so true that it hurts me to say this, the 49ers just plain sucked this year, and cant get worse next season, their draft pick will make the offense at least 2 times better no matter who it is either rodgers, leinart, williams, it doesnt matter!

by the way do you happen to know when tom brady is a FA??

the 49ers don't need a quarterback. cody pickett is a good quarterback for the future.

both the cowboys and the redskins have shown that they are willing to spend money for a big time player. both of them need a quarterback. both of them have cap space. beyond that, nothing.

just watch this is what will happen with the 49ers:

they will go after drew brees in FA.......and GET HIM!
then they will trade down in the draft to about #5 and get mike williams, then with some of the other picks they got from trading down they will draft O-Lineman or trade the picks for proven lineman already in the nfl

therefore making the niners a WAAAAAAAAAY better offense next year than they were this year, also with not so many injuries next year their defense will be better

(I hope this happens )

hey purple, congratulations, your list was just read (well, summarized) on Packers Monday on AM 620 WTMJ in milwaukee courtesy of an email from yours truly. He was looking for free agents from teams around the NFL. Didnt expect to read it on the air.... pretty cool i guess. Also, i signed it Dan from Menomonee Falls, WI and i guess in the header of my email address it has my full name, so that was announced over the radio for all to hear. Oops! I didnt give credit, sorry, i think it would have sounded a bit silly to cite "Purple Gorilla" but just thought i'd let ya know.
