Having to go to the high school to pick up my son because he had just beat the hell out of a kid a lot bigger than him. We'll call this boxing as to qualify it as a sport. The principal told me he was sorry but school policy said they both had to be suspended (they saw the other kid sucker punch my kid). He said he really did enjoy watching my kid beat the hell out of that smartass until they managed to pull them apart.
Nice story, I too was always the one to start things with the bigger guys.

Doesn't really have to be about football moments, just sports in general.

My favorite moment not involving me was a game 7 in the conference semifinals between the Sabres and Penguins. This was season one of Mario's second come back. The Penguins were down by a goal with a few seconds to go and Lemieux scored a goal just before time ran out. Then in overtime Darius fucking Kasperitis scores the series winning goal. That was the first and only time in my life that I cried out of joy.

It sucked ass when they lost to New Jersey in the conference finals.

My best memory from youth sports was being the only goallie to ever shutout another team in my roller hockey league. I played the game of my life that day. I made a post to post save, a diving save with the blade of my stick and a save with my helmet. What a great day.

If anyone is wondering why it was the only shutout, the rink was very short (much shorter than regulation) and one could easily score from the middle of the rink.

Winning the DELCO (soccer league in my area) championship, after making it to the championship game twice.

Letting in only 3 goals (average for a handball game is about 15), and winning the school handball title. I posted a GAA of 5.3 that season.
Is that high school or youth league?

Seeing Hank Aaron hit the homer that put him past Mel Ott. Seeing him hit #715 on tv.

Watching Ozzie Smith do his last backflip in a Cardinal uniform.

2 putting from 30 feet after hitting the 18th green in regulation to win my flight in the club championship by one stroke. I had set myself on fire a week before and was heavily bandaged under the long sleeves and pants I wore to hide the bandages, and a piece of my ear was missing (it grew back).

The 2 matches I had in the match play championship that went to 20 holes. I lost both but they were a lot of fun. One was the final so I got a 2nd place trophy.

2 freethrows I made with no time left in 6th grade to win the basketball game by one point. that was one of the few games my Dad showed up at.

Watching my brother kick a 35 yard field goal with 30 seconds left to win a high school football game.

Watching the Eastern Conference Finals (Bucks vs. Celtics) from my brother's hospital room. I had my dad drive me to Milwaukee (75 miles) to his hospital for every game. Bucks lost in 7 games. (BAH!)

Cecil Cooper's single that delivered the Brewers over the Angels in the '82 ALCS.

I was just wondering because I went to a team camp in Gettysburg with my high school team one year and there was a team with 2 time DelCo champs shirts on.

There are so many, but a few that come to mind for me......

Watching my favorite Tiger, Jack Morris pitch a no hitter in 1984, the last great year for the Tigers.

Watching the Redwings finally win that first championship after coming close for awhile before that, and getting over the hump.

Pitching my first of 5 no hitters, and then pitching my second no hitter the following game.

Watching Bo Jackson run right over Brian Bosworth on MNF after all the hype.

Watching early Mike Tyson fights where he actually boxed, and caught people with big shots, instead of just throwing haymakers all the time.
