Yeah, they keep screwing it up winning like this.

And hey, I still have a little hope for next week. I was excited for the first time in a while today watching Pickett out there. He really did look good(other than one ridiculous bonehead pass), but Buffalo's D is actually stat-wise just as good as NE.
I know but Baltimore should lock down shitty AJ Feeley and the crappy offense next week so I see that as a loss for Miami.

As for Pickett I didnt see the game so I dont know how he looked but I do know that to play in SF's system you just need to be smart and accurate. Their WCO is a pure version and so its all timing and running the offense with precision so if Pickett can grasp tose concepts he could be ok. I didnt think Rattay was bad but he cant seem to stay healthy. Im really curious as to where SF would go with #1 overall. Im thinking ANtrell Rolle would be the safest pick but it depends on what SF wants. They may get crucified for passing up Leinhart or Rodgers should 1 or both declare.

AFC, Roethlisberger no question. I really liked the footage of draft day when they followed him around with the other invitees, and it took forever for him to get picked.

Dunta Robinson had a great year, but dont play QB for the best team.

NFC candidates IMO off the top of my head:

Kevin Jones Det
Roy Williams Det
Gibril Wilson NYG
i think its down to KJ and Williams in the NFC

They don't do AFC/NFC ROY's anymore....just offensive & defensive.

So Roeth has the offensive ROY wrapped up....KJ has gotta be in second place.

True, other than McGinest and Arrington, I can't think of any LB's that have been drafted top 10 in the last 10 years.
I guess like anything its cyclical. When a star comes along at any position you usually see a rush of players there within a few years. The talent at LB just hasnt been there lately cause anyone with decent speed now who played OLB gets moved to safety. Archuleta and Mike Boulware are pefect examples while speedy LBs taht play inside usually stay put cause coaches love guys like Morgan, Vilma, Lewis etc that can run sideline to sideline.

2004: Vilma
2003: Terrell Suggs (drafted as DE, plays LB since day 1), Nick Barnett
2002: Napolean Harris, Robert Thomas
2001: Dan Morgan
2000: Arrington, Urlacher, Julian Peterson, Erik Flowers, Keith Bullock
1999: Chris Claiborne, Andy Katzenmoyer, Al Wilson
1998: Brooking, Takeo Spikes, Anthony Simmons, Brian Simmons
1997: Peter Boulware, James Farrior, Dwayne Rudd
1996: Kevin Hardy, John Mobley, Ray Lewis
1995: Mark Fields, Derrick Brooks
1994: Trev Alberts, Jamir Miller, John Thierry, Rob Fredrickson

Yeah i forgot that Erickson went to a vertical style. In that case I wouldnt bet that any of your QBs have the arm stregnth to play in that system plus that would seem to go against the organizational philosphy of not spending high picks on qbs which they havent done since Druckenmiller. I agree the wrs suck but normally wr is a 3 year project. You guys have needs all over though thats why you'll be picking where you are.
its not that our receivers suck at all, its just that we dont have a big, tall, deep threat guy. Rashaun Woods is about as close as we have and he just isnt getting the job done.

Pickett definitely has the arm strength too, which was so nice to see...lol. Watching Dorsey flutter shit out there all the time got really annoying.

I have a feeling both our squads are going to be eyeing Rodgers and Leinhart

In that case, I pick Vilma and Roethlisberger

yeah, I really think that they will go for one of the QB's. I would like to see them trade down and draft an OT or Antrel Rolle.

I dont like how Erickson came in and changed their offense all around. Instead of the WCO he put in a more vertical style. It makes no sense at all when you have no deep threat receivers(Lloyd is too small) and your tight end is your best receiver. Thats got WCO written all over it.

Ben deserves ROY for offense. Being Qb on the team with the most wins as a rookie is impressive enough but to not lose a start...wow.

Honestly when you look at the per second production, there was no better rookie.
He has a hell of a lot less interceptions than big Ben.

Its clinched for all intensive purposes since theres no way you'll beat NE. Even then im not sure youre SOS would be better than cleve's so its basically a non issue. Im more concerned about my Phins being in the 4 slot cause their SOS is better than Tennessee's right now. They need to lose to Balt next week and get a W from Tenn and get back in that 3 spot

I know my team is complete shit this year, but Shawntae Spencer(CB) has been getting better and better every week. He got thrown in to the fire so to speak, but has really been playing well.
I agree. Anytime you have a CB with good speed and the ability to play the ball well then you have a chance to have a real stud CB. I havent seen much of SF this year (thank god, its hard enough to watch my phins) but from what I have seen he seems to be improving.

By the way the #1 pick is all SF's now. They have a weaker SOS so unless they beat NE (LOL@ that happening) SF will be going #1 overall.

He was dominating in the limited action I saw him play this year. O-lineman are always overlooked for such awards though.

I thought we clinched it today? Hmm...oh well, we arent beating NE anyway. If it were against any other team, I would love to see Cody Pickett start. He got two passes picked off that werent really bad passes today, but he threw the ball and moved around so much better than Dorsey ever could.

The kid looked like he could have something if you give him a decent line and a running game. He's very athletic and big, and has a strong arm.

Offense its Big Ben no Doubt.

Defense its Sean Taylor no question with his fellow Miami alums DJ Williams and Johnathan Vilma behind him.

Woods will be good but hes a rookie. You dont necessarily need a big target though to have a good group of wrs. GB, NE, Den dont really have that and theyre all good. The wrs you have havent impressed me when i watched vs miami, rams and nyj. They dont get great separation and their route running and timing seems off. Of course that could be a 2 way street as your qbs arent anything good either.

Like i mentioned on PM a few weeks ago Im hoping miami deals down cause though i like Rodgers and Leinhart I love Orlovsky Campbell and Orton + more picks even more...much more. I think all 3 of those guys will be very solid nfl Qb's. And please get Feeley the fuck out of there.
