They can market Parcells vs. Gibbs, and the oral lovefest that'll commence amongst the talking heads will make up for the fact that this is gonna be an ugly ass game in their eyes. |

Better viewing, Better ratings..... better product for hte fans... Just my opinion... I'm with you on this one. The NFL is a business, and games are its product. Wouldn't the NFL want to get its best products (games and players) out to the biggest audience? I definately DISAGREE with both of you. Here's why. Let's say you're a family of four and you've saved up to bring your kids to their first ever football game. You got Sunday off from your job, but had to take a shift Monday afternoon to make up the hours. Then, just a week (or less) before the game the NFL steps in and moves the Sunday game to Monday night and you can't go. OR Let's say you are going out of town to watch your favorite team on the road. You've got a plane ticket that leaves Saturday and comes back monday and hotel reservations for Saturday and Sunday night. All this would be taken care of months in advance to avoid paying out the ass for the ticket. Then, the NFL step in and changes the game from Sunday to Monday. Oops...you're out a thousand bucks unless you can extend your stay. I think it's a really bad idea, people make plans based on the NFL schedule the day it comes out. |

PG - you are right!
But the NATIONAL TV games on Sunday can be changed. This crap of not showing the more important games nationally on Sundays has got to change. I believe that, within the contracts that the networks have, they can change games. For example, if team X in week 14 is in the playoff hunt - and is slated for a regional TV game - and team Y has a 3-11 record but is slated for a national TV game, it should be switched. Another thing that bugs me. Yesterday, some people who were watching the Vikes game couldn't watch the end of the game because the networks switched to the beginning of the GB/IND game. That should NEVER happen. The ends of games are usually more important than the beginnings. |

What does the NFL have against its fans, that the two games that everyone gets to see are woofers? I mean, seriously.
Tonight's game is Gruden's old train wreck vs. Gruden's new train wreck, and tomorrow night's game would have been interesting ten years ago. Really. Is the NFL's memory so short, that it forgot how badly the last Dallas/Washington game tilt tanked on Monday night? |

yah i'm with you guys...tomorrow's game prolly won't be that exciting. and, i'm watching the game tonight...and t.b./oak certainly isn't very great. but you're missing the point. cowboys were a playoff team last year, 'skins are a possible playoff team this year. it's a division game. it's two of the greatest coaches ever. people will watch. |

While I'm sure Joe Q. Rube will watch because of the line of talking heads fighting to be the first to give Parcells/Gibbs a BJ in their analysis, they'll quickly turn it off once they see this game is going to be ugly.
Then there's folks that'll watch football no matter what it is. That being said, I highly approve of the idea of switching games to Monday Night that are more interesting. |
