Default Boat Trip HDR
Some pictures I took yesterday on a boat trip on my dad's boat.

These are all HDR, sorry whisky.

Now these are amazing!

Do you take multiple shots? (free hand or tripod?)
Or do you edit one shot? (Because, if free hand and multiple shots I'm amazed how steady your hands are...)

Tripod in all shots. Three exposures, +2, 0 ,-2 slammed together into one. One of them has more than 8 exposures, but I think I'll remove it. Not happy with the result.

Yeah. I have done HDR quite a bit. And from experience I can say that 3 different exposures is the best way to go.

thats coronal mass ejection that can only be captured with hdr photography.

but seriously these are somewhat light handed hdr shots so, i even like a few of these shots.

some ppl just drag sliders all the way to opposite sides, that just makes me wanna puke all over the screen

I don't like the clown vomit ones either. I found a guy on another forum I'm active that produces nothing but pictures like that. He had a picture from inside a church, a beautiful church, but he had ruined it by making it look like a bloody carnival.

yeah i don't understand why ppl do that to great looking photos.

i really do like hdr when done properly, and some types of photos can handle large amounts of hdr while some will turn into veggie soup

Which HDR software did you use? What was your workflow?

I import the pictures with Lightroom. Then I open the three shots I need in Photomatix by choosing Generate HDR. Then I use tone mapping where I have made pre-sets that suites my liking and work from that. Then I prosess them and save them as a TIF.

I put all my processed pictures into a different folder and imort them into Lightroom where I give final touches if nessesary. I fix tilted horizons, crop them, fix exposeure if needed and so on and so forth.

Then I export them and put them into suitable sizes for differen forums and webpages.

Here's a few that are not HDR. Just plain old traditional one exposure.
