Yesterday i finally got my Zukio 12-60mm SWD lens

And this was the first ever pic i took with it.

Really very nice. Great shot but if you want comments about improving it in post-production, i'd say try to overexpose the rose a little and darken the background, just so it brings out the red rose more.

edit: Not sure if i've done it justice in what i'm trying to say, but it's basically increasing the contrast between the Rose and everything else. Hope you don't mind.

No not at all it always intresting to see what other people come up with.

But what i did with this shot was to sharpen it then soften it slightly to give it a slightly dreamy look, and add abit of saturation to bring out the red more.

The dreamy look always seems to work well with roses for some reason.

The one big difference between both images is that your original one definately seems a little warmer than my version. But i'm a sucker for the single flower or pair of flowers with the complete black background look. [thumbup]
