Why "screw the 40D" ?

The D3 will be 5000 usd, and the D300, which is also a great looking camera, its no better or worse overall than the 40D.
Nikon still needs to get its higher ISO noise issues sorted out.

They are both great looking cameras - lets not turn this into a Nikon/Canon bashing thread please.

I'm sorry, just got so excited when I saw them, but then my enthusiasm went down after seeing the price tag on the D300.

I'll have to see some test images before I can comment on the noise issues. They seem to have a new image processor so it'll be interesting

Fullframe Nikon.
After years of Nikon sackriders saying Nikon doesn't need a FF camera. [rofl]

I really wish Canon would have made something in the d200/300 range. I would have loved the colors and high iso performance of the 5D, but the price tag (approx. $2300) really made it inaccessible to me. That's why the D200 always seemed like the perfect camera for me, but I needed low light flexibility for sports, so to Canon I went.

While these are decently interesting offerings, I'm more interested in the three Super Telephotos they've announced. I'm not surprised to see that each of them is directly in line with its Canon counterpart in technologies and MTF ratings.

All this new technology is fun, but until we get some third party tests and samples, this is just m@5terbation without the payoff...
