Default Why Washington state?
Well:

Those were some pictures from a recent camping trip my and some of my co workers went on in the Olympic mountains.
My camera is far from the best (Olympus D-560) so these pictures aren't all that great, but I think it gets the point across. This can be a beautiful place to live.

And just because I like these pictures:

I like this one:

the way you can see the mountain in background and all the trees in the middle.

And just to make it that much more impressive, the mountain you see in the background (Mt Baker) is about 30 miles away, in a totally different moutain range (cascades)

So awesome to see that far, typically it wouldn't be that clear out.
From our campsite we could even see San Juan island (and past) which is 50 miles away.

I think my cousin lives on that island. It sounds like the name of the island he lives on. Anyway, I hope to return to visit the Pacific Northwest sometime soon. It's wonderful.

Oh no, I just remembered while typing, it's Lopez Island he lives on. Well, when he isn't living in his tree house he built in Alaska... heh.

I have so many killer washington state pics I could sell a screen saver or a few calenders.

I grew up in MN but lived in San Diego, been to Europe, Carribian, lived in San Diego, Florida, visited a few of the rocky mountain states, including yellowstone, Hawaii...now I live on the Kitsap Pennisula and I feel the Pac NW is just a superbly beautiful area to live in.

From the stark rise of Mt Rainier to the ragged outline of the olympics at hurricane ridge, snoqualmie falls, the olympic rain forest, the sea stacks in la Push, the 101 loop along the canal, past lake cresent...I could go on and on. The variety , water, trees and mountians is just incredible.

wait I don't want to let out the secret...I mean it always rains here and I am constantly depressed...yeah that's it....
