Default DRDO's Nag Missile and Namica fail user trails
In the July trials held in Rajasthan in presence of senior Lt Gen-rank officers from the Army and top DRDO officials, both Nag and the modified carrier of the missile NAMICA under-performed.

Four Nag missiles were fired at Mahajan firing range, of which only one could hit the target whereas the remaining failed to do so due to glitches in the equipment on-board the weapon say DRDO sources.

DRDO spokesperson Ravi Gupta said the trials were a "partial success" and said that the Advanced Target Acquisition systems with both the Gunner and Commander have performed well.

He said the trials have "brought out certain deviations in the engine performance of the NAMICA BMP-II and those were being assessed by the experts."

So far, DRDO has carried out more than 50 test-launches of the missile since it started its development in the 80s.

The improvement in NAMIKA Mk.2 platform includes reduction of all-up weight to 15 tons, improved reliability of missile launcher platform drive mechanisms, provision of higher-resolution target acquisition sight for the gunner, enhanced user-friendliness in acquisition of target through reduced offset between sight and missile seeker-acquired target scene image, improved amphibious performance, and provision of a target surveillance and acquisition sight for the crew commander.

Hahaha... This is funny. DRDO says that Army gys launched the missiles before they could lock on the missile.
Two missiles were fired on on July 28. The one tested for a range of 2,500 metres, hit the bull’s eye. The second could not hit a target 700 metres away owing to a problem in the seeker. On August 1, two missiles missed the targets positioned at 1300 metres and 2,500 metres.

DRDO has faulted the Army for the failure of the two missiles. There was no adequate thermal contrast for the seeker to lock on and track the target before the missile was launched, DRDO said. The Army was clearly told to ensure that the seeker locked on and tracked the target before the missile was fired. But, in both the instances, the missiles were fired before the seeker locked on the target.

Army has trialed Nag missile 20 times and the missile failed only on four or five occasions.

On NAMICA:

Two reconfigured Namica vehicles — each developed by L&T and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) — were tested in the Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan. DRDO attributed the failure to lack of proper conditions for the missile’s seeker to lock on and track the target. Several problems cropped up in the functioning of the automotive systems that were sourced from the Ordnance Factory. However, mobility trials for 300 km of the scheduled 1,000 km were conducted on the two carriers.
