Default IFtaar at Shalaten Garrison
On 13 Aug 2012, Shalaten Garrison witnessed a galaxy of political leaders, Senior Civil Administration Officers, police brass, members of academic faculty, sarpanchs, village elders, media persons and Senior Army Officers to celebrate Roza Iftaar organised by the Counter Insurgency Force (Kilo). Lt Gen Om Prakash GOC 15 Corps and Maj Gen Sarath Chand, GOC Kilo Force welcomed the guests with the spirit of brotherhood which is the hallmark of the month of holy month of “Ramadan”. Janab Mr Ghulam Hassan Mir, Minister of Agriculture Production, Mr Javaid Ahmed Dar, Minister with independent charge for R and B, Mr Nasir Aslam Wani, Minster for Housing and Urban Development, Mr Nizamuddin Bhat, MLA Bandipore, Mr Ramzan Chaudhari, MLA, Handwara, Mr Peer Aafaq Ahmed, MLA, Zadibal,Mr Basharat Bukhari, MLA, Snagrama, Mr Irfan Ahmed Shah, MLA, atmaloo, Mr AH Khan, MLA Lolab represented the political fraternity. Mr Ashok Prasad DGPJKP, Mr K Rajindra Kumar, ADGP Law and order with other Senior Police Officers represented the Jammu Kashmir police while Mr MP Singh attended from the CRPF. They were joined by Senior District Administration Officer, Members of Academia and a host of other luminaries from the business fraternity.

After the collective Namaz all guests interacted with each other and wished that the message of goodwill, good thoughts, friendship and brotherhood will spread among the society during the holy month. During the interaction Lt Gen Om Prakash thanked all the dignitaries for gracing the occasion and stated that all those present have a role to play in peace, prosperity and progress of Kashmir. Mr Ghulam Hassan Mir mentioned that organising of such events by the army speaks volumes of secular and harmonious character of the army. The guests were highly appreciative of the warmth and people friendly initiative by the army to reach out across the strata of the society in celebrating the joys of sharing, caring and forgiving, true to the spirit of Ramadan.
